Calories on menus - how do you approach this when supporting someone with an eating disorder?

Government anti-obesity strategy is set to make displaying calories on menus obligatory to the detriment of many people coping with an eating disorder. This presentation will look at the issues this brings including practical steps to manage eating out and provide support.

Abigail is an Occupational Therapist with 25 years’ experience and has been working in the field of eating disorders since 2008. This has included working on an adult inpatient ward, managing a day service and is currently lead occupational therapist for eating disorders in her Trust. Prior to this her experience was in general, forensic and community mental health.

She currently chairs the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Eating Disorders Forum within the mental health specialist section and sits on a number of advisory groups.

Abigail has worked as a clinical associate trainer for Beat since 2018 and is passionate about her work for the charity.
