A look at Family Based Treatment (FBT) from the perspective of both carers and professionals. This presentation will reflect what we wish we had known before starting FBT. It will include practical tips on how to approach FBT with top tips around understanding ED’s, managing mealtimes and generally how to ‘survive FBT’.

Ros Rea is the Clinical Education Lead for Beat. Her role is to lead the creation and oversee the implementation of Beat’s high quality, evidenced based, education resources, equipping health and medical professionals with the skills and knowledge to identify and respond to eating disorders in a clinical setting.

Ros trained over 25 years ago as a Mental Health Nurse and has been working within the field of eating disorders for the past 23 of these. Supporting adults, young people and their families to recover. She has qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy and is a Systemic Practitioner.

Ros’s heart lies in early intervention, supporting carers and families, teaching and presenting.
